Behaviour Change Skills – Part 1
This course focuses on the interpersonal skills which enable practitioners to collaborate with their clients in a way that will enhance motivation for change. The training model has been well researched and has been used extensively for over 20 years. It involves a micro skills teaching programme where the course materials include prior reading detailed written description of skills, the opportunity to practice and receive individual feedback.
This skills based workshop is designed to transmit and promote the appropriate use of good communication skills by practitioners. These skills provide a solid foundation for further behaviour change skills training.
To provide a thorough and detailed training in consultation skills to enhance current practice and to provide a foundation for more advanced behaviour change skills courses.
On completion of the course each participant should be able to:
Trained facilitators support participants in the skills-based workshops. There is a ratio of 1 facilitator to every 3 participants for the workshops to ensure optimal learning, which contributes to the unique quality of this course.
This course acts as a foundation must be completed before undertaking Behaviour Change Skills Part 2 & Part 3 courses
