Clare has specialised in weight management for over 23 years working for the majority of this time in tier 3 and 4 obesity services in two London teaching hospitals. Following a recent relocation to Yorkshire she has established her own freelance practice. Clare also has a research background in obesity, having been involved in various clinical trials and led a large qualitative study exploring diabetes prevention in the Bangladeshi community. She is member of the clinical care committee for SCOPE and the RCP advisory group on weight and health. She has recently become particularly interested in the role of mindful eating in obesity management and is a qualified MB-EAT instructor.
A 2-day workshop presented to healthcare professionals, which will focus on the communication skills essential for effective conversations about health. These role-play workshops, supported by video playback, provide the opportunity for individual feedback to enhance development.

This course builds on Behaviour Change Skills Part 1 and 2 and is aimed to enhance your clinical effectiveness by learning to integrate some of the basic CBT techniques into everyday practice. It is a skills-based programme which is supported by a comprehensive 1 day pre-course.
