Lih-Mei is a clinical psychologist and a health psychologist. She is registered with the Health Professions Council and is a fellow of the British Psychological Society. She is a part-time lead consultant clinical psychologist in the NHS, working with colleagues and trainees to deliver clinical excellence.
Lih-Mei retains strong academic interests, and is co-author of almost 100 publications on a range of topics, including reproductive, sexual and metabolic health. She holds a number of honorary appointments including membership of several professional networks and editorial boards, together with an honorary readership at University College London. She is a committed and enthusiastic educator, who regularly teaches, trains and provides consultancy to a wide range of health practitioners and user groups in the UK and abroad.
With an excellent track record both as practitioner and educator, Lih-Mei has enjoyed delivering cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) skills training on behalf of Behaviour Change Training (BCT) for over 10 years.
A 2-day workshop presented to healthcare professionals, which will focus on the communication skills essential for effective conversations about health. These role-play workshops, supported by video playback, provide the opportunity for individual feedback to enhance development.
This training aims to enhance current practice, by exploring ways of building and strengthening motivation to change and maintaining that motivation throughout the change process. Motivational Interviewing (MI) has been used successfully in a wide range of health behaviours.
This course builds on Behaviour Change Skills Part 1 and 2 and is aimed to enhance your clinical effectiveness by learning to integrate some of the basic CBT techniques into everyday practice. It is a skills-based programme which is supported by a comprehensive 1 day pre-course.
